Six months old

Oh my! Athena is six months old already! Wow! Where is my newborn baby??? It seems just like yesterday when she was so tiny and now she's getting bigger and becoming a little lady.

I was browsing her baby photos and I can't believe how much she changed. Her skin color becomes lighter. Her hair becomes dark brown which I thought she's gonna have a black hair like me. Oh well, she got it from her Dad. She's on the move now! Ha! She hasn't crawl yet but she can wriggle all over the room by rolling over. One time I put her on her playmat and I went to the bathroom and when I came back I saw her beside the fireplace. I was like, what??? What are you doing there??? Haha...She looked at me with a big smiled on her face and giggled, she thought it was funny. She can also sit down now. She loves grabbing anything. She ate solid foods and her favorite is carrots and sweet potatoes. She hates banana just like her Mom. Yes I don't like banana. She learns to say "da da da" and "ayeee" that sounds to me like "daddy". I can't wait til she learns to say "mommy".

She has this new habit wherein she bit her lower lip. Haha...I thought it's funny! She always does that.

Caillou theme cake

I made this cake for a friend's son birthday. 

I based the color scheme on Caillou's shirt and hat and the dot party napkins that she bought.

The Caillou and the balloon cake topper are made of cookies.

I usually use gumpaste to make cake toppers but I thought of making cookies. 

I think I will try that again on my next cake :-)

It's summer time

It's been so hot here in Kansas. I was born and raised in a tropical country so I am used to hot weather but it is way different here. It's dry here unlike in the Philippines which has an oppressive humidity and plenty of rainfall. It's been so hot that I stayed home with my baby. I usually go out for a walk but I just couldn't stand the heat and my daughter can get sunburn. I don't easily get sunburn because I have a darker skin and my daughter has a lighter skin. 

I was bored one day and I decided to make these cookies. I thought of making summer theme cookies. There was no occasion or anything, it was just out of boredom since I have a leftover cookie dough in the freezer. 

Oh how I miss home! It reminds me of the Philippines. Beaches, palm trees, seashells, lots of seafood and you can get it fresh. It's been a year since I went there for vacation. I'm hoping to go home next year and visit my family. My parents are very excited to meet their granddaughter!

I'm glad that I have a baby girl and she can help me decorate cookies and cakes. 

Well, I hope she loves baking.

It will be fun to make these girly stuffs with her.

This is kind of a late post because I made these cookies one month ago. It's been a while since I made cookies. I have more cake orders than cookies this past few months. I was glad that I got to decorate cookies again!
